Day 1
Day 1
30 December 2006
James took us on a tour of the historic parts of Prague. We took the funicular railway up Petřín Hill where we enjoyed the parkland and climbed all 299 steps of the Petřín lookout tower to get some amazing views over Prague. We then walked to the Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral where we saw the changing of the guard and ate in a nice restaurant nearby. From here we walked through Malá Strana(Little Side/Lesser Quarter) and across the famous Charles Bridge. We then ventured to the Staré Město (Old Town) where we saw the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. We finished the night off with cocktails in a nearby bar and a walk back to the apartment via Wenceslas Square where we saw the memorial to Jan Palach.
You can view the album on a map if you want to see the route we took.
